1. Agreement and eligibility
By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using privateSEO, or by using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. If you use privateSEO for a company or another organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for it, and “you” includes that organization.
2. License to use privateSEO
Subject to these terms and the limits of your selected plan, privateSEO grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app for your own personal or internal business SEO work. A paid license may be activated only on the number of installations or by the number of users allowed by the purchase terms.
You may not sublicense, rent, lease, resell, distribute, or provide the app as a hosted service unless privateSEO has agreed in writing. You may not bypass license enforcement or plan limits.
3. Free and paid plans
Features and limits differ between the Free and Pro plans and are described on the website or at purchase. We may adjust plans for future use, but a change will not remove rights you have already paid for during the applicable paid period without an appropriate remedy.
Pro is sold as a recurring monthly or yearly subscription through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. The secure checkout shows the price, billing period, applicable taxes, renewal terms, supported payment methods, and any refund terms before you confirm. Your purchase and payment information is also governed by Lemon Squeezy's terms and privacy policy.
Your subscription renews automatically for the selected billing period until cancelled. You can manage or cancel it through the Lemon Squeezy customer portal. Cancellation stops future renewals and Pro remains available until the end of the already-paid billing period. Except where the checkout terms or applicable law provide otherwise, charges already paid are non-refundable.
You are responsible for keeping your license key secure. You must not publish or share a key beyond the people and installations covered by your plan. Consumer cancellation, cooling-off, warranty, and refund rights required by applicable law remain unaffected.
4. Acceptable use
You may use privateSEO only lawfully and responsibly. You agree not to:
- scan a website unless you own it, have permission to audit it, or are otherwise legally authorized to make the requests;
- use the app to gain unauthorized access, bypass authentication, evade access controls, probe private networks, distribute malware, or collect protected information;
- overload, disrupt, or damage websites, networks, privateSEO services, or other people’s devices;
- ignore a website operator’s restrictions or use a robots.txt override without explicit authorization;
- misrepresent scan results, infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights, or break applicable laws and professional obligations;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent technical protections, except to the limited extent the law expressly permits despite this restriction; or
- use privateSEO to build or benchmark a competing product where such a restriction is permitted by law.
You are responsible for choosing appropriate scan limits, pacing, targets, and timing.
5. Website scans and third-party sites
PrivateSEOBot is a user-initiated crawler. Requests originate from your computer and internet connection, not from a central privateSEO crawling network. Website operators may therefore see your IP address and the PrivateSEOBot user-agent. More detail is available on the crawler information page.
Websites and resources you scan belong to their respective owners. privateSEO does not control, endorse, or guarantee third-party content or availability. You are solely responsible for your authority to request, analyze, retain, and export information from a target website and for complying with the website’s terms and applicable law.
6. Optional third-party integrations
You may choose to connect supported third-party services, including Google Search Console and Google Analytics. You authorize privateSEO to access read-only data you select so the app can provide the requested reports. Your relationship with the provider is also governed by its terms and privacy policy.
Third-party APIs, permissions, data, and availability can change or stop without privateSEO’s control. We may modify or discontinue an integration if necessary for security, compliance, or compatibility. You can disconnect Google integrations from Scan Settings or revoke access through your Google account.
7. Your data, reports, and exports
You retain rights in your projects, website data, and exported reports. You permit the app to process that information locally only as needed to provide the features you request. Core scan reports are not automatically uploaded to a privateSEO cloud account.
You are responsible for securing your device and backups, checking reports before relying on or sharing them, and ensuring exports do not expose confidential or personal information. Deleting the app may not delete separately exported files or operating-system backups.
8. privateSEO ownership
The privateSEO application, website, interface, software, designs, documentation, trademarks, and other service materials are owned by privateSEO or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. These terms grant a right to use the service, not ownership of it. Feedback you voluntarily provide may be used to improve privateSEO without restriction or payment, provided it does not identify you publicly without permission.
9. Availability, updates, and changes
We work to keep privateSEO reliable but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. The app may download or offer security, compatibility, and feature updates. Some updates may be required for integrations, licensing, or safe operation.
We may change or discontinue features and may update these terms. The date at the top identifies the latest version. If a change materially affects current paid use, we will provide reasonable notice through the website, app, or another appropriate channel where required.
10. SEO disclaimers and limitation of liability
SEO results are informational. privateSEO identifies signals and potential issues based on the pages and data available at scan time. It does not guarantee search rankings, indexing, traffic, revenue, legal compliance, accessibility compliance, or that every issue will be found. You should review recommendations in context before changing a website.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, privateSEO is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. Nothing here excludes warranties or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, privateSEO will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits, revenue, traffic, rankings, goodwill, or data; website downtime; or claims arising from unauthorized scanning, third-party services, or your implementation of a recommendation. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for privateSEO during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
11. Ending use
You may stop using privateSEO at any time. We may suspend license validation or terminate a license if you materially breach these terms, misuse the service, or create a security or legal risk. Where reasonable, we will give notice and an opportunity to correct the breach.
On termination, your license to use the affected paid features ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and general legal terms—remain effective. Your local reports and exports remain under your control unless you delete them.
12. General terms and contact
These terms and any purchase terms are the entire agreement about privateSEO and replace earlier statements about the same subject. If one provision is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer this agreement without consent; privateSEO may transfer it as part of a reorganization, merger, acquisition, or sale of the service, subject to applicable law.
These terms are governed by applicable law. If you are a consumer, mandatory protections and the courts available in your place of habitual residence remain unaffected. Before starting a formal dispute, both sides should try in good faith to resolve it through support.
